2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is a rocket!

You can love or hate, or both love and hate, the design of the Porsche Panamera. It’s an easy car to dislike. It comes from Porsche, and seems like a cross between the company’s SUV ambitions and its sports-car history. In reality, that means the Panamera is the best of both worlds—versatility and performance—and that marriage gives us the 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo.

Yes, the name is long, but boy does it pack a lot into it. Porsche redesigned the Panamera recently, and with that redesign brought a more wagon-like variant—the Sport Turismo. Porsche doesn’t call it a wagon, but that is splitting hairs. Now to break down all the other gobbledygook goodness.

The Turbo S moniker from Porsche is legendary—it’s a standard in performance. It’s feared by rivals and can lay the hurt on the competition. In the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, Turbo S means translates to a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine making 550 horsepower. But that’s not the end-all for performance.

The E-Hybrid is more than just some fancy technology. It equates to a 136-hp electric motor that adds to the total performance of the Panamera. Total combined output for the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is a massive 680 hp and 626 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot of oomph. All that power sends the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Top speed is a 192 mph.

All that performance does come with a hefty price though. The 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo starts at $188,400 excluding delivery and handling. The four-door rocket goes on sale in spring 2018.
